The last Ten Nights of Ramadan
Tonight is the first of the last ten nights of Ramadan. Among these nights there is a unique and most virtuous night called Laylatul-Qadr. It is the night when the Qur’an was first revealed. Allah says in Quran that Laylat-ul-Qadr is better than a thousand months (i.e. worshipping Allâh in that night is better than a thousand-month worship; i.e., some 83 years.
Our Prophet peace be upon him stated that Laylatul-Qadr is one of the last ten nights of Ramadan and accurately in the odd nights. One of the Prophet’s companions swore that it is the 27th night of Ramadan; when the sun sets for 26th of Ramadan, the 27th night starts. So, it is highly recommended to spend these nights in worship in hope that one can catch up with that uniquely blessed night.
